The Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) has provided funding for a special initiative: The 2024 edition of the Naval Engineers’ Forum - aiming to support and bring together members of both the Royal Navy and Royal Marines community, fostering camaraderie and celebrating their dedication for engineering.
This year's extensive Forum, themed ‘Time for Engineering’ provided a comprehensive platform to examine the evolving landscape of engineering in a rapidly changing world. Discussions spanned critical areas such as enhancing productivity, where experts shared insights into optimising processes. There was also a strong focus on modernising engineering force structures and the exploitation of technology. All aimed at empowering, motivating and inspiring engineering professionals of all ranks and rates.
"Without this grant we simply would not have had sufficient funds to run the event in the way we envisaged it. The use of 3rd party funding enabled the Naval Engineers' Forum to be run at high quality venues and to utilise external catering suppliers which significantly enhanced the experience and professional feel of the event. This was especially important in attracting representatives of the junior engineering cadres, who's inputs and opinions are so important to discussions about the future of engineering in the Service”
Lt Andrew Hill, Naval Engineers’ Forum
A key event in the Naval Engineers calendar, the Forum brought together representatives from all Naval Engineering Specialisations and with collaboration with key industry partners sharing the aim of harnessing the collective problem-solving skills of the Naval Engineering enterprise to address key issues that affect engineering in the service today.
These events offer an excellent opportunity for the RN community to expand networks. For more information about Engineering in the RN, follow this link: Engineering | Royal Navy
"Supporting the Naval Engineers Forum aligns perfectly with our commitment at the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity to invest in the advancement and wellbeing of personnel. Events like these empower engineers at every level to engage directly with the challenges and opportunities of today’s naval engineering landscape. We're proud to play a part in such a valuable occasion"
