HMS Dauntless Welcomes Loved Ones Onboard for Pre-Deployment Families Day

Event, Families, General, Serving Personnel

HMS Dauntless welcomed families and affiliates on board for a heartwarming and memorable Families Day – a cherished occasion bringing together the Naval community.

Held on the Type 45 destroyer ahead of her upcoming deployment, the event offered families and loved ones of the ship’s company a special opportunity to step aboard and experience life at sea. With the ship berthed at HMNB Portsmouth, guests enjoyed family-friendly activities and entertainment in a relaxed and celebratory atmosphere.

RNRMC was proud to stand alongside the wider Naval community, with volunteers on hand to distribute Operation High Mast bags filled with valuable resources and information. This included two new booklets – Strengthening Families and Naval Charities Booklet - designed to help serving personnel and their families navigate the unique challenges of naval life, particularly during periods of separation.

The Families Day was a fantastic opportunity to strengthen bonds, create memories, and celebrate the incredible support families provide.

At RNRMC, we take great pride in championing initiatives that honour the Royal Navy community and highlight the vital network behind every sailor and Royal Marine.

Last year, RNRMC awarded a grant to HMS Dauntless for their Navigators and Directors Reception – an event aimed at encouraging discussion on branch direction, celebrating successes, and uniting resources to tackle shared challenges, all within a setting that blends professional dialogue with a social atmosphere.
