The Submarine Awards Evening 2024 took place on 15th September at the Glasgow Hilton, bringing together submariners, their families, affiliates, and contractors for a night of recognition and celebration. This prestigious event, formerly known as the Submarine Oscars, honoured the hard work and dedication of personnel across the Submarine Service.
Generously supported by a £10,000 grant from the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) and The Submarine Family, the evening proved to be a tremendous success. The support from these organisations not only helped make the event possible but also contributed significantly to raising morale across the wider Submarine Service. Additionally, funds raised during the event were donated to The Submarine Family, ensuring continued support for submariner families.
One of the evening’s highlights was the presentation of the Dean Rogers MBE Submarine Family Award, sponsored by The Submarine Family. This prestigious award, recognising individuals who have made a significant impact on the wellbeing of submariner families, was awarded to Chief Petty Officer (CPO) Dave O’Neill. His dedication and commitment to supporting the submariner community exemplified the values of care and solidarity within the Submarine Service.
The success of the Submarine Awards Evening 2024 underscores the vital role that events like these play in fostering a sense of community and appreciation within the Submarine Service, while also raising essential funds for those who dedicate their lives to the nation's defence.
