Parkdean Resorts, a delivery partner of the Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) and the UK’s leading holiday park operator, has pledged to increase its support for the armed forces next year by donating over 200 holidays to members of the military community and their families in 2025.
Steve Richards, Chief Executive Officer at Parkdean Resorts, recently hosted an event at The Cavalry and Guards Club, London to celebrate and recognise the success of this Project Blue initiative.
Throughout 2024 Parkdean Resorts donated 185 holidays across 21 of its award-winning holiday parks through partnerships with the Army Central Fund, RNRMC, and the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund. Breaks were awarded in recognition of the beneficiaries’ service and to support military personnel in need of respite and recuperation.
"At the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, we see firsthand the impact that time away together has on military families who are often facing immense challenges. Parkdean Resorts' generous holiday donations give our beneficiaries the chance to relax, reconnect, and recharge, helping them feel valued and supported by the wider community. We are incredibly grateful for Parkdean's ongoing commitment to our armed forces, and we’re excited to see even more Royal Navy and Royal Marines families benefit from this wonderful initiative in 2025.”
Anne Carr, Head of Grants at RNRMC
Always strong champions of the military community, the holiday park operator has donated holidays since 2021 and holds an esteemed Armed Forces Covenant Gold Award from the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme, the highest accolade a company can receive for its veteran-friendly recruitment processes and development opportunities.
The award is open to all members of the Royal Navy, including regular and reservist personnel, with the aim of supporting families, offering them a chance to get away and recharge. Families who receive a Parkdean Break can choose to take the break with or without the service member, especially if the deployment prevents them from joining.
The award offers several types of breaks to choose from. These include a 7-day or 3-day stay at one of 19 Parkdean Resorts locations.
Nominations for a break need to be sent via Divisional Officers, Troop Commanders, or representatives from the Naval Families Federation (NFF) or Royal Navy Family & People Support (RN FPS) - they must email mygrant@rnrmc.org.uk to request the online application link. If selected for a Parkdean Break, the RNRMC will contact the nominee to provide a list of available resorts.
“We have so much respect for our valued armed forces and the sacrifices they make. Bringing families together and creating unforgettable memories is at the heart of everything we do, so we’re delighted to be increasing our number of donated holidays from 185 to over 200 in 2025. This will allow us to support even more military families in the new year, through our continued partnerships with the Army Central Fund, Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, and the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund.”
