HMS Raleigh recently had the privilege of hosting Honorary Captain and RNRMC Ambassador Pete Reed OBE where he officially relaunched Neptune Squadron, HMS Raleigh’s Rehabilitation facility. Honorary Capt Reed was the perfect choice to relaunch the facility as he exemplifies the Royal Navy's core values of courage and commitment through his own rehab journey. The Royal Navy showed their gratitude to Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) and The Gosling Foundation for the enormous support we gave.
In 2023, as part of the modernisation process for Initial Naval Training (Ratings) (INT (R)), it was recognised that the same was needed for recruits requiring additional training support and medical rehabilitation to enhance their lived experience.
Recruits undergoing rehabilitation now have the opportunity to engage in continuation training and rehabilitation to help them to progress forward and get back into trainer sooner, The new capability includes modern facilities, including a rehabilitation room, a mindfulness suite, a fully equipped recreation space, and a learning suite, all located on level 1, ensuring easy access for all injuries.
The event was also attended by RNRMC Ambassador Commander Jane Allen.
