With funding from the Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) - Kings Camps operated their sports and activity camps in Helensburgh, Plymouth and Fareham during October half-term. 116 children from 79 families attended a packed-out week filled with fun, sports, and games.
“Everything about Kings Camp is spot on we just love it; children soar here, and the coaches are amazing with the children. Amazing as always, it’s a safe fun environment for children to grow learn and have fun.”
Amy, parent of attendee.
During the Kings Camps' Stars and Stripes theme week, the children were immersed in a series of activities inspired by American culture and sports. Activities included American Football, where children learned the basics of passing, catching, and team strategy, which gave them a taste of this iconic sport.
There were also Line Dancing sessions, which allowed children to enjoy rhythmic movement and teamwork in a fun, high-energy setting. Cheerleading also added to the theme's spirit, as they learned basic cheer moves and chants, building confidence and coordination.
“The RNRMC is delighted to provide funding for Kings Camps and work in partnership with them to deliver enriching experiences for Naval families. Together, we’re creating memorable weeks of fun, sports, and community for the children of those who serve.”
Anne Carr, Head of Grants at RNRMC
Each of these activities not only introduced the children to new skills but also encouraged them to embrace team spirit.
Attendees also enjoyed swimming, coaches’ challenges, Wacky Wednesday and sports including lacrosse, hockey and badminton.
“Great team and my daughter loves it there!”
