Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) has been pioneering and championing change for families living with neurodiversity, striving to create an environment where they feel supported, valued, empowered and connected.
While the primary focus is on families, our Neurodiversity Navigator is also available to assist all service personnel and those transitioning from service who are neurodiverse, providing assistance in challenging situations. This role is a key part of our ongoing commitment to neurodiversity support within the Royal Navy, helping to build a “community of experience”.
The Neurodiversity Navigator is part of the Strengthening Families support RNRMC offers to beneficiaries. In celebration of Neurodiversity Awareness week, RNRMC attended the RN Infinite coffee morning at HMNB Portsmouth, offering valuable support to Royal Navy and Royal Marine personnel and families living with SEND and neurodiversity.
Gemma Winterton, Co-Chair of RN Infinite, the Royal Navy’s Neurodiversity Network said:
Our role is to support neurodistinct personnel and their families. One of our key partners in this effort is Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity. We’re so grateful for their contribution. One of the key people is Bobbie, the Neurodiversity Navigator. She supports families with signposting and ensuring they have accurate, up-to-date information, which is so important when navigating the complexities of neurodiversity
Simon Rollins, Learning and Development Hub Manager at HMS Collingwood, added: “I support individuals facing neurodiversity challenges within the learning environment. We work closely with RN Infinite and RNRMC, who do amazing work in supporting service personnel and their families with all aspects of neurodiversity”.
