The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity is dedicated to supporting the well-being of our service members and their families. Today, we were thrilled to attend the opening of a new breastfeeding area at HMS Temeraire. The Funding for this space was awarded by the RNRMC.
In 2022, the Defence Breastfeeding Policy emphasised the necessity for dedicated spaces for breastfeeding and milk storage, addressing a critical gap that had made it challenging for breastfeeding mothers to express milk and complete their return-to-work training.
Cpl Tash Day, who is Chair of the Defence Breastfeeding Network, officially opened the new breastfeeding area today, which will significantly benefit service wives, partners and serving personnel who can now use the space as part of their transition back to work after maternity leave. HMS Temeraire’s Breastfeeding area is the 95th Defence Breastfeeding area to be opened by Cpl Natasha Day.
As we continue to champion such vital causes, the opening of the breastfeeding area stands as a testament to what can be achieved through collaboration and a shared commitment to the health and well-being of our community. We look forward to seeing the positive impact this facility will have and remain steadfast in our mission to support the Royal Navy, Royal Marines and Royal Fleet Auxilliary family in every possible way.

Thank you again to RNRMC for providing the grant – this really does mean the world that we can support our servicewomen this way.
