James Pitt has served as a Trustee of the RNRMC since 2013 and was also appointed as a Vice Patron in 2017.
James is a Partner of Lexington Partners, the world’s largest independent manager of private equity secondary and co-investment funds, where he is responsible for the firm’s international direct investments. He has worked in the private equity sector since 2000, prior to which he was an investment banker at Morgan Stanley in London and New York, and a strategy consultant at Arthur D. Little. He served as a warfare and ship’s diving officer in the Royal Navy from 1984-89.
James and his wife Bianca have two young children and live between London and West Sussex. His interests include, in addition to significant charitable involvement, a variety of sports, country pursuits and sailing. He is a Member of the INSEAD UK Council, a Governor of Shrewsbury School and Chairman of the Shrewsbury School Foundation.
James holds an MBA from INSEAD in France and a BSc. (Hons.) in Systems Management from City, University of London.
