RNRMC Supports Successful RAF Digby Day

Event, Grants

The Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) has assisted with a grant for Families Day at RAF Digby, a key event in the calendar where the people come together to celebrate and to support families that make up the RAF Community.

Digby Day

Although not an active flying station, all the personnel based at RAF Digby directly support global operations 24/7, 365 days a year. RAF Digby is the oldest RAF Station, established in 1914 and has a very rich heritage.

This year saw the station adopting a 1950s style theme for Families Day – with the day being a huge success gathering around 1700 attendees, flypasts including the Lancaster and a Typhoon, various different bands and musicians (including Military Wives Choir, Woodwind group from the Royal Auxiliary Air Force and various cover bands) playing to large, excited crowds.

Digby Day

The Station Families Day marks the largest annual event at Royal Air Force Digby, which is a fantastic community occasion organised for the welfare of the force. Welfare is a critical aspect of life for those in the RAF, as it provides essential support that strengthens both individuals and families facing the unique challenges of military service.

RNRMC is proud to have supported RAF Digby in hosting a highly successful event. As part of the ongoing commitment to enhancing the lives of serving personnel, veterans, and their families, the RNRMC continue to contribute resources and assistance that helps create memorable experiences for all involved. Collaborations like these underscore the charity's dedication to fostering community spirit and wellbeing across the different services.
